Thanks to everyone's participation, we have managed to reduce our brown bin collection [going directly to landfill] by 50%. Here are the many ways that Erskine staff and residents are being kind to the earth:

On Mondays and Thursdays, residents can throw their recyclables directly down the garbage chute!

Residents can now divert their green waste from garbage by using our Composter, located at the north east side of the building;

For a small seasonal fee, residents can grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs. Talk about your 100 foot diet! You can't get more local than your own backyard.

Check out our Recycling Room to dispose of specialty items such as batteries, compact fluorescent bulbs. We also collect printer cartridges, eye glasses, cell phones and other electronics for donation or recycling.

We use recycled Boomerang™ paint in all apartment living areas.

We encourage energy conservation by converting all in-suite light fixtures to CFL and providing residents with additional bulbs for future use.

We no longer drop notices and newsletters to each door. Essential notices are posted on our web site, our facebook page and in the elevators and laundry rooms.
